Interested in importing or exporting a commercial cargo shipment? Not sure if the goods require a permit and/ or a license? Irrespective of the questions, we have all the answers. We are reliable and efficient in effecting customs
clearance at all levels. Our daily activities surrounds clearances for: Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), Special Economic Zone (SEZ) formally known as a Free Zone, Trans-shipment, Returning Residents and Motor Vehicle Importation.

All our clients enjoy pro bono customs consultancy from customs tariff
classifications to taxes, we will calculate the customs duties for you.

Whether it’s a box, pallet, barrel, crate or a full container load shipment we will haul the cargo from the port to your desired destination. We also have flatbed chassis’ in the fleet so don’t worry about those special cargo shipments.

What our customers are saying?

All imported goods with a CIF (Cost Insurance Freight) value of US$5000 or commercial declarations, motor vehicles and firearms must be cleared by a licensed Customs Broker.

Import duties are assessed on the cost of the goods imported, plus additional charges for freight and insurance (CIF). It is therefore important that your invoice or ‘shop receipt’ is available for the examining Customs Officer to determine a fair value.

All passengers, 18 years and over, are allowed the following without payment of duty, provided they do not exceed the amount indicated, and the items are properly declared:

  • Perfume ………………. 170 ml
  • Eau de Toilettes …….. 340 ml
  • Alcoholic beverages .. 2 litres
  • Tobacco (sticks) …….200 cigarettes,50 cigars or 230 grams of processed tobacco

All passengers 18 years and over, may bring with them free of duty, personal and household effects, including gifts, which together are of a value not exceeding US$500 or the equivalent in Jamaican currency.

You will need to obtain the following documents before importation is done:

  • Import Licence
  • Title
  • Bill of Lading/Order
  • Invoice
  • Bill of Sight
  • Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
  • E-sad document (Prepared by a licensed Customs Broker)
  • Fireworks
  • Firearm
  • Motor vehicles
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Human remains and pesticides.

N.B. The list is not exhaustive and it is the responsibility of the Importer to check and see if the goods being imported require a permit or licence from the respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

In order to be considered as a Returning Resident and to benefit from the concession afforded to Returning Residents, you must satisfy one of the following conditions:

  • Be a Jamaican national who has attained the age of 18 years and who has been residing overseas for the last 3 consecutive years and is returning to Jamaica to reside permanently.
  • Be a Jamaican who gave up your Jamaican citizenship, and can provide proof of that previous status and wishes to return home.
  • Be a Non-Jamaican whose spouse is a Jamaican Returning Resident.
  • A Deported person who has been residing overseas for the last 3 consecutive years.
  • Returning Student
  • A  Jamaican national who has resided abroad for more than one (1) year but less than three (3)consecutive years for the purpose of studying and who returns to Jamaica to reside permanently will be entitled to duty exemption on some of their items.
